    Audit Services in Accra

Independent examination of financial records for regulatory compliance, lender requirements, and internal assurance.

An audit is an independent opinion on whether financial statements present a true and fair view. Its value comes entirely from that independence, which is why an auditor who tells you only what you want to hear is worth nothing to the bank, the regulator or the investor relying on the opinion.

Audit engagements are rendered through our sister firm, KAP Chartered Accountants, for statutory and regulatory purposes, and internal audit work aimed at the different question of whether controls are actually operating as management believes. The two are often confused; they answer to different audiences and are scoped differently.

Findings are reported plainly, with the control weaknesses that produced them and what would resolve each one. An audit that produces a clean opinion and no management letter has usually not looked hard enough.

    Common questions

Does my company need a statutory audit?
It depends on the company's classification and the requirements attaching to it under Ghanaian company law, along with any obligations imposed by lenders, investors or a sector regulator. We can confirm your position from your incorporation documents and current filings, and coordinate the engagement with KAP Chartered Accountants.
What is the difference between an internal and an external audit?
An external audit produces an independent opinion on the financial statements for outside parties: regulators, lenders, shareholders. An internal audit serves management and the board, testing whether controls and processes work as intended. Different purpose, different audience, different scope.
    How should we prepare?
Have the trial balance, bank reconciliations, fixed asset register, and supporting documentation for significant transactions ready before fieldwork begins. Preparation is the single largest factor in how long an audit takes and what it costs.
